It’s not every day that a real estate agent is recognized for their community spirit. Chava Adams, however, isn’t your average agent.
In addition to supporting several charities (YMCA, Upwards Transitions, Beautiful Restoration, The Hugs project and The Patriot Clinic) the Berkshire Hathaway REALTOR® who has survived combat training and active duty, has launched an innovative Midwest City Neighborhood website to promote local business owners seeking to reach local residents.
Adams, a retired US Air Force combat veteran, mother, and wife, hopes her website will spur economic development and attract interest in local business owners from residents in the Midwest community she serves.
Her self-produced interviews with local business owners are a labor of love. She publishes them weekly on her comprehensive Parkbench neighborhood website and shares them on social media to attract further interest.
Sponsored entirely by Chava, the site serves as a comprehensive resource and news hub for local residents seeking to support businesses close to home. Business owners can now promote their products and services free of charge by joining her Midwest City Parkbench Website.
A business directory, newsletter, discount coupons, along with local events and news articles are updated daily to provide residents with free, hyperlocal information. Joining the website is free, and users can contribute content as well.
And did we mention that Chava is providing all this for free?
Why is she doing all this?
“Ultimately my goal is to provide 100 acres of housing for people in Midwest. No one else is doing it, and there is definitely a need. If you asked Jesus how he would conduct His business, I feel He would say, by getting to know the people who need the business he has… It’s my opinion, if you want to have a truly successful business you have to put God first.”
As a computer display technician aboard surveillance AWACS and MC-12 surveillance platforms, Chava traveled the world extensively.
In 2016, Adams was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a chronic medical condition affecting approximately 5 million Americans. After her medical discharge from Tinker Air Force Base, OK, Adams was determined not to let her medical condition limit her future.
Adjusting to life with fibromyalgia was a challenge, but Adams has channeled her military training and Christian values to support a number of causes close to her heart:
“Obtaining my real estate license was a very practical way for me to add value to my community. With accreditations in Military relocation and Financial Education services, I’m able to help potential homeowners find the best investment for them. My Parkbench website highlights the best Midwest City has to offer, and my interviews are a great way to show prospects the kind of people who live and work here in a personal way…”
Welcome To Midwest City
A 2016 report ranked Oklahoma as the third highest homeless population behind New York and California. Median home prices in Midwest have risen at a slightly slower pace (9.06% y-oy) than surrounding areas, but affordable housing is still elusive for many.
Despite setbacks and volatility in the energy sector, Midwest’s comparatively lower cost of living has been a major boon to small business owners and entrepreneurs. Access to venture capital, however, remains a significant hurdle.
Promoting local business has proven both challenging and rewarding. While Chava has faced some skepticism from business owners about her interviews, her enthusiasm remains undiminished:
“The ability to help others get better exposure has been very rewarding. My confidence has greatly increased with every ‘No’ because I know I bring a lot of value to the table and being a part of the Parkbench team has been a huge part in gaining that confidence.”
The Parkbench 30 x 30 Challenge
Each year, Parkbench challenges their ‘Local leaders’ across the US and Canada to complete 30 interviews with local business owners in 30 days.
In spite of her fibromyalgia symptoms and family responsibilities, Chava dedicated herself to the challenge and completed 33 interviews within a span of two weeks.
Supported with tools, technology, and training from her Parkbench success coach, Chava has experienced what she describes as tremendous personal growth that has made her a better agent:
“As a Parkbench neighborhood sponsor, I’m trained to become a local leader through intense weekly coaching. We learn how to add value to our community first by supporting the people who support us. Through my Parkbench website, I secured exclusivity to support the local businesses of Midwest as their Local Leader, and I joined an amazing network of over 1000 other agents from different cities across the US and Canada. So if I need help with a relocation, for example, whether it’s local or out of state, I have a lot of support.”
The Future Of Midwest City
Going forward, Chava plans to complete 12 interviews each month. Business owners can visit the website directly to claim your free Parkbench business listing, add deals and coupons for local residents to redeem.
